Are you writing a book?

I've noticed there are a lot of people on here saying they are. If you are, are you doing it for fun or do you want to be published? What topic are you writing about or inspired by? I understand answering that question with a vague answer, not want to give too much away. I'm majoring in journalism and going to an author. I'm currently writing a book about vamps (nothing like Twilight more like Underworld vamps) I have other ideas to. I'm inspired by music, books, and movies. Anyways I was just wondering if there are any future authors out there.
