Feeling sad after permanent birth-control?

I have been feeling very sad after my husband's vasectomy. We just had our first child (3 mos) after a very difficult time becoming pregnant. We discussed birth control but I explained I had changed my mind and wanted another child but he proceeded anyway. Now, I am frustrated and not sure what to do to 'get over' this. I am considering professional help but it has only been a week. I just don't want resentment to ruin my feelings. Anyone been through this? How did you manage?
