Knots on a dog's ?

My mini schnauzer, Gus, just turned a year old April 19. Today, I noticed that he had two almost g-sized knots midway up his . Within a matter pf minutes, they were gone but I'm still worried about it. Is this normal, or should I get him to a vet?
